OG's ... Digestive Tracts For Digestive Tracts!!!

Allow us to share to you our favorite local barbecue stand.....Og's!!! It's located at the corner of Road 2 and Road 8 in PAG-ASA, Quezon City!

I actually asked this guy on the picture about the name of the stand... he said, " I don't really know!" Hahahaha so I told him that most of our friends call it Og's. Why? Well, according to the local legend, it used to be operated buy a guy named ... yeah you guessed it right!!... OG!!!

There are countless barbecue restaurants and alley stands scattered all over the nation.. each one of them proud about their so-called "secret" recipe and some even claim to have the best tasting one..... personally for me, the reason why I've decided to pick Og's is because of its taste ofcourse, price and lastly, it's staying power....

Og's has been grilling for a loooooonnnngggg time!!!

It has already cultivated quite a following...

Lots of people regularly flock this place to get a hold of these highly addictive barbecue sticks. We even have a friend who actually drives from Makati to Quezon City just to grab some tender juicy sticks of pork intestines from Og's. Kuya Je would usually buy from Og's whenever we would have a drinking party at the house. We believe he's the ultimate foodie! hehehe We always look forward to his recommendations for we know that if it's recommend by him, it must be good!!

Aside from the traditional Pork Barbecue, they also have ....

1. Chicken Neck

2. Chicken Feet

3. Chicken Intestines or "Isaw"

4. Pork Ears

5. Pork Skin

6. Pork Fat

7. Pork Intestines

8. Hotdogs

I can't really remember all the prices but they just cost around 10-15 pesos per stick!

So affordable!

My personal favorites include their pork barbecue and ultra delicious melts in your mouth pork intestines! Grilled to perfection... then finally dipped in some seasoned vinegar!!! YYUUUMMM!!!! I can actually hear my resident tummy worms begging for it! hahaha

Others may think of these as exotic, dirty or just plain bizarre.... I say, you should try it for yourself when you reach the Philippine shores....

Og's remains to be a small and simple corner street food stand up to these days, but I'm sure it has satisfied millions of hungry stomachs! Nothing beats a very good recipe and a whole lot of dedication!!

I hope that Og's will keep the flame burning for a long long time!!!!

Thank you for reading and see ya'all next week!!

A Tale of Desserts Like No Other...

Hahahah what a coincidence!!
Well, I don't really live a stressful life...
but every weekend, I always look forward to
experiencing new things.. seeing new sights or tasting new dishes or simply visiting places which I fancy just to satisfy my cravings... these are my ways to relieve stress.

This particular weekend, all my stresses were kissed goodbye by this restaurant which creates desserts with so much passion...

Allow me to tell you a tale about desserts like no other!

At the 3rd floor of the Trinoma Mall lies a fancy spot called CockTales....

This is probably the only place which gave me genuine satisfaction.. It's not just about the food but the over-all dining experience.

From the seats, price range, menu, tableware, glassware, silverware...name it! I'm unbelievably impressed! The food presentations are visually appealing and the taste will truly satisfy one's soul!

It's such a delight to see the menu... full of fresh and lively colors... everything on the menu look so tempting and healthy as well! I was also impressed with the choice of quotes about desserts...

CockTales mainly offer a wide variety of healthy drinks that are served in good quality cocktail glasses.

They also offer delectable meals like pastas, sandwiches etc.

Take a peek at the menu...

They serve fancy tropical desserts...
Fresh fruits and a variety of tapioca balls
on ice!

They have a wide array of mixed drinks guaranteed to quench your thirst!

They also have blended fruit drinks and dessert smoothies
to give you that extra boost!

Ofcourse, heartwarming hot drinks to kiss those worries goodbye!

Here's what I ordered....

After looking at the menu, I suddenly felt this strong craving for some dessert!

Fruit Waffles (solo) - (70.00php or 1.45$)
- Like a work of art! *sigh*
I even had second thoughts in eating it for I didn't wanna ruin the presentation!

Experience total bliss for only 70pesos!

WAAAAAAHhhhhhhh!!!

Happiness with every bite!!

I was very impressed with their silverware..
They use really good quality stainless steel utensils.

Here's my personal favorite thirst quencher...

Apple Chocolate Martini ( 75.00php or 1.56$)
-This truly refreshing drink is made up of chilled pure apple juice with ice, served on a tall martini glass, garnished with fresh apple slices and dropped with a Hershey's kiss for that
guaranteed sweet ending!

..... heaven in a martini glass *sigh* *sigh*

Here are some pictures from our last visit...

We ordered a set meal consisting of 1 Clubhouse Sandwich, 1 Long Island Iced Tea and 1 Mini Dessert of the Day for only 170php or 3.5$!!!!

Let me show you their Trinoma Branch. According to the waitress, they also have a branch in Megamall and another one somewhere in Manila.

... This experience truly made my spirits high!
My total bill was only 145 pesos!!! WOW!!!
If you're lucky enough.. you may even get a 20%
discount on your total bill... simply ask the staff to give you
their discount flyer.

I totally agree with this last picture...

Nourish your soul with desserts from Cocktales!!!

Life is like an Ice Cream, enjoy it before it melts!

We hope you enjoyed this review!
See you again next Thursday as we feature a very popular Persian Restaurant located at the heart of Quezon City..... ciao!

Baker's Passion @ SM North Annex

I've discovered another fancy restaurant without a fancy price located at the 3rd floor in the newly opened SM North Annex.... Baker's Passion!

Hmm... I'm not sure if it's a sister company of Bread Talk but its interiors and baked goods definitely look similar... the only difference is the price and some menu additions.

Have your laptop ready because the new SM annex offers fast and free wi fi

Here's what we ordered....

Seared Tuna Panini (118php or 2.5$)

- The presentaion was nice but Jr was disappointed

with the tuna.. it wasn't fresh during that time. Booo!!!

I expect to see some improvement next time! I liked the fried potatoes on the side!

Shrimp and Garlic Pizza (148php or 3$)

- I liked this one a lot! I love cracker thin crust pizzas!

The serving size is ok... around 9inches I think. Good for 2-3 people.

It's not the best pizza in town but it's worth the price!

I recommend you eat it while it's hot!

They also offer Malaysian Brewed Coffee with 2 pcs of Garlic toast for 65 php and a glass of Iced Tea for only 35php!

Meet one of my finicky critics.... Jr's larger than life nephew Geoff a.k.a Joppers!

The Verdict : Thumbs up!!

Our over-all dining experience was good! The service was not bad at all! They use standard quality silverware..The seats were quite comfy but think they should expand their dining area and pay more attention to the quality of ingredients.

The baked goods looked tempting but the taste was not really that impressive... it tasted "average." If you're gonna take them home, be sure to toss it in your oven toaster first!

Hometown Happiness....

Nothing beats an icy cold bottle of our local favorite San Miguel Light and a glass of iced tea whenever Jr and I are having those stressful weekdays. We would regularly have these midnight cravings and whenever we're too lazy to go far.. our local pub is always
there to the rescue.... ROY's
Located at the corner of Road 8 and Road 1 in Pag-Asa Quezon City, Roy's Bar is where majority of the locals would hang-out, drink and sing to their heart's content.

This is where Jr and I would have our "brainstorming sessions." Most of our ideas are created right at this place. I also remember hilarious nights with Luis and all the berks and ofcourse foodtrip sessions with Kuya Je! We feel very at home here despite the noise from the Videoke machine. The place is operated by tito Roy's family...We find them to be very nice people! You have to be a little patient with the wait staff though, for they tend to be slow. I suggest you talk to tito Roy's wife for speedy service..

Tokwa't Baboy ( 80.00php or 1.66$)
- Perfectly fried crispy pork belly and chunks of crunchy beancurd dipped in a combination of soy sauce, vinegar, sliced onions with a squeeze of lemon.... wahhhh cooked just the way I like it!!! Truly the best in town!

Tips: Don't forget to tell the waiter how you want it to be cooked! I always tell them that I want it really crispy!

oohhhh la la!!!

Pork Sisig (150php or 3.00$)
- Their version of Sisig really improved a lot! I dunno their secret ofcourse but it really tastes great! A combination of crispy pork bits, liver, onions and some secret stuff then topped with an egg or sometimes some grated cheese.. served on a hot plate... squeeze-in some lemon, then add some drops of hot sauce...... WALAH!!!

Crunchy and creamy at the same time! I can feel a lot of textures and explosion of flavors with every bite! Somebody stop me please!!!

They offer a variety of local dishes... take a look at the menu....

Our other recommendations would be their

signature Buttered Chicken (150php) and their Pinoystyle Fried Chicken (180php)

Great food shared with great people! *sigh*

Life is indeed beautiful!!

1962 Tambayanan .. The Freshest Old House of Timog

Scrumptious yet affordable food, cheap beer, homy ambiance, nice sound system, excellent staff - this is how I'd describe this new hidden treasure located at the heart of the richest city in the land.

This place reminds me of my lola's (grandma's) house. The food reminds of her home cooking.. cooked with passion, sprinkled with love!

Here are the must try dishes...

Fish Shanghai Lumpia (90.00php or 2$)
- We always order this everytime we visit!
6 big rolls made from real Bangus (milkfish) meat. Cooked fresh and served crispy along with some
sweet and sour sauce or you may request for some vinegar. Perfect eaten with steaming hot rice!!

Sizzling Pork Adobo (160php or 3.33$)
- Aside from the usual Sisig, this dish would be a great beer partner!
Chunks of tender pork adobo sprinkled with lots of toasted garlic served on a hot plate.... truly a mouthwatering delight!
A good addition might be a seperate sauce for when you want to eat it with rice and not with beer"

Sizzling Bicol Express ( 150 php or 3$ )
- A classic Filipino favorite!
It's basically, seasoned pork and lots of green chillis cooked in fresh coconut milk! Recommend for people
who like spicy dishes!!

Mojo Potatos ( 75 php or 1.5 $)
-Deep fried thinly sliced potatoes dipped in
Ranch Dressing. It tasted ok but I think my recipe is better heheheh

I'll do my best to post more pictures! Meanwhile, here's the rest of the menu

Oh! Before I forget.. the 1962 Tambayanan is located at the corner of Scout Tobias and Scout Madrinan.

How to get there: From Timong (going to Quezon Ave) turn Right at Music 21 Plaza (Sct Tobias) then take another Right turn (Sct. Madrinan) and you'll immediately see the place.
